The Latham Lees Baxendale Team

David Lees

David Lees originally trained as a Scottish Chartered Accountant qualifying in June 1976 with Thomson McLintock in Manchester. He decided to move into Industry firstly at a Printing Press firm in Preston where he was promoted within the Company to Assistant Chief Cost Accountant responsible for 25 Employees. Following this he moved to Corning Glassware Limited and was promoted to the position of Financial Controller responsible for 50 Employees before leaving to pursue a career back in Practice at Price Waterhouse Coopers as a Management Consultant eventually gaining promotion to Senior Consultant. He was then appointed to Caine Carter and Watson where he stayed for nearly 7 years. Finally, he and his colleague David Costa acquired control of the partnership “W H Latham & Co” forming the company Latham Lees Costa eventually becoming what the firm is known as today “Latham Lees Baxendale”.

Steve Baxendale

Steve Baxendale originally trained as an office junior at Horne Brooke Shenton Chartered Accountants in Blackpool between 1994 and 1996 obtaining his AAT qualification whilst at the same time learning his trade. Looking for a career advancement, Steve obtained a position within Rawclife & Co Chartered Accountants in Blackpool where he was given overall control of the Audit compliance work for the Franchise group client they held as well as Tax Return and Corporation Tax Preparation. After 4 years Steve sought a new adventure in the Industry and obtained a position as Group Financial Controller for a Multi Million Pound business called “Tangerine Holdings Limited” based in Lytham which at the time consisted of 1 holding company and 7 subsidiaries. The job entailed travelling each month to Hereford, Barcelona, and Dublin. Steve stayed at this post for approximately 5 years when he was appointed as Company Secretary for J Wareing & Son (Wrea Green) Limited assuming control of the finance function of the business as well as Company Secretarial duties. In 2013 whilst working at J Wareing & Son (Wrea Green) Limited Steve formed his own practice in Poulton-Le-Fylde after purchasing clients from a local Accountant in Blackpool building the business from the bottom up until he eventually merged practices with David in August 2023 forming “Latham Lees Baxendale”.
